Stoke Travel likes nothing more than hurling a tomato at a friend’s face. That’s why La Tomatina Festival 2019 is one of our favourites! It’s therapeutic — squashing and throwing salad vegetables, knowing that nobody’s going to get (too) hurt. This summer in August, we will again descend on the Spanish Mediterranean city of Valencia, with the intention of throwing as many tomatoes as we can at each other, at strangers, at locals and at ourselves.
Chances are that you’ve heard of La Tomatina, the Spanish fiesta that sees thousands of revellers fill the streets of Buñol, a small village outside of Valencia, with the intention of partaking in what is probably the world’s biggest food fight.
The tomato fight only goes for a couple of hours, but Stoke Travel likes to make the most out of our days in Valencia. We’ll explore the city, swim at the beach, try Valencian paella, go the Water and Wine festival (optional), play beach games, shake the tomatoes off us at the official La Tomatina after party and our legendary campsite parties.
Our La Tomatina campsite parties feature DJs and bands, our bar is fully stocked with unlimited, cold beer and sangria, and you can drink as much as you want, during opening hours, for only €10 a day. When you do La Tomatina with Stoke Travel you will meet people from all over the world, and then throw tomatoes at their faces. It’s an amazing deal.
